About B.A. Dahlias

Hi! I'm Britt Aranda! My love of gardening was planted in my heart by my mother when I was just a little girl. She always brought me along side her as she tended her vegetables or pruned her roses in her large rose garden. When I got married it was all about veggies, but still plenty of flowers mixed in. One year when visiting my parents, my mom sent me home with a shoe box full of dahlia tubers. I fell in love with dahlias from the first bloom! The next year I grew 15, and the year after that I had 150 varieties! You all know how it works! So here I am, a homeschooling mom of 4, with a love for growing and an entrepreneurial spirit! B. A. Dahlias was created out of a passion for growing beautiful and healthy dahlia tubers. The past few years I have been growing seeds saved from my own dahlias. There is nothing like the thrill of experiencing what feels like Christmas everyday in August when each unique dahlia bloom begins to emerge. I look forward to sharing my own cultivars with the world someday. Until then, thank you for supporting me and my small business as I strive to steward the land well, share beauty with others, and cultivate a community of growers. 

B. A. Dahlias is located in the heart of Illinois near the small town of Hudson (zone 5/6). 

 

Here is a picture of my first official garden! When I was 9 years old, my mom gave me my own corner of her garden to plant what ever I wanted. (I still always have a kitty nearby when I'm in the garden!)
